With crowds even larger than Saturday's, Sunday's Divafest began on a sparkling sunny day, the breeze in the treetops and the laughter of women gathering together made music long before the performances began. |
But as appealing as the gathering of women of good cheer might be, as wonderful as it is to meet old friends, to make new ones, the real reason we show up is to listen to some of the finest in Women's Music. Here then, from the talented eye of Beanie Etchells, day two of Divafest VI. |

Spotted in the crowd by the eagle eyes of June Millington and Ann Hackler, directors of the Institute for the Musical Arts, Silvia Kohan, a foremother of Women's Music most graciously agreed to an impromptu performance, and was thanked by a standing ovation from a surprised and delighted audience.

A sad note: We have just received word that Silvia Kohan passed away in her sleep on Saturday, June 27, 2003. We mourn the loss of one of women's music's great voices. We are honored to have heard that voice at Divafest VI. Blessed be, Silvia.

As the shadows grow long and another wonderful weekend of music at Divafest VI draws to a close, the stalwart, hardworking and devoted duo at the Product Table carry on. Caring not for the hour, no complaints for the Northern California chilly night creeping in, they (wo)man their table, seeing to it that every audience member who ever dreampt of buying even one of the many brilliant CDs provided by the marvelous performers and by IMA Special Projects' www.musicwomen.com, quite incidentally managed by these wonderful two women, one of whom, quite equally incidentally designed this website.
